Work as a Future Earth Early Career Research Fellow

Networking Conference

In summer 2015, Jess was selected as one of 32 early career researchers and professionals from across the world to participate in the Future Earth Young Scientists Networking Conference on Integrated Science on the topic of "Future Sustainability - the Role of Science in the Sustainable Development Goals," which took place May 24-30, 2014 at Villa Vigoni in Menaggio, Italy (just north of Milan on Lake Como, pictured below). Sponsored by Future Earth, the International Council for Science (ICSU), and the International Social Science Council (ISSC), this conference was dedicated to discussion the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the connections between science, research, policy, and practice in global sustainability and development initiatives both in the developed and developing world. During the conference, Jess presented her research in the form of a poster presentation. As a product of the small group work that took place during the conference, Jess has been a coauthor on two blog posts and a manuscript. She continues to work with colleagues through this network of Early Career Fellows.
